Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

I just got back from the hospital. I wanted to say "Thank you very much!" to =gppr once again, who was worried about me and supported me in every way she could in these difficult, but yet not hopeless times. She always cares about what happens to me and to Alli, and that's priceless. I will continue my treatment at home, dear friend, and hope that things get even better, so I won't be forced to go back there, because there's no place like home.

As the rest of you may have noticed, I haven't written any Journals for almost one month, so sorry for all the Favourites that didn't get their feature, or their DD Suggestions as always. When I'll feel stronger, I'll get back to my usual deviantArt rhythm and your artworks will be more advertised out there. I am sorry also for all the submissions from my Group that didn't get approved and expired. I and *Alligatorr did our best to keep up with them when I was sick, but as soon as I had to go to the hospital, chaos arrived.

I want to give all my love and a huge, heartfelt "Thank you!" to my beautiful love, *Alligatorr, who was incredible and flawless in a crisis situation and kept everything in order and gave me the psychological strength that physically I didn't have. He took care of me, of his work, of our home, of my dad and of our pets. I couldn't ask for more in this life other than having him and, of course, for us to be healthy.

In the meantime, I was very surprised to see that in each day that I was at the hospital, a DD Suggestion I made long ago got accepted. Here they are:

. I was making a little joke yesterday with Alli about this fact, saying that maybe I should go to the hospital more often if things go so well with my DD Suggestions on deviantArt this way.

Eh, a little bit of dark humour makes the tension easier sometimes.

P.S. I would have never imagined that I would see the day when perfect doctors and nurses ( and, by perfect, I mean it in every single way ) take care of me for 24 hours a day and I leave the hospital with a feeling of deep respect for them. Almost 10 people and all of them were as they should when it came to their job. I know so well how horrifying the health system from my country is and, yet, I know now of the exception.

And if some of you think that they were so great because I gave them any money, other than what my insurance covered, you are terribly wrong. They didn't want, nor take a penny from me, not even flowers or stuff like that.
